Election history:
I ran as an Independent candidate in the local elections in Galway in the West Ward 2 years ago. It was my first time running. After a relatively short 6 week campaign I obtained 270 first preferences and had 401 votes when eliminated which was a third of a quota.
Priorities:
- Pro Life/Retention of the 8th Amendment. I believe that life begins at conception and the 8th amendment recognizes this fact and must be protected
- Review of Sexual Abuse Crimes. I also have great concerns regarding the attitudes to and funding towards sexual abuse victims in this country.
- Mental Health Reform. Greater investment in the services as well as more alternative therapies should be made available to clients.
