An Independent Senator since 2013, I previously served as a Fine Gael Senator (2007-13). I parted ways w/ FG (July '13) when I wasn't granted a 'Free Vote' on abortion bill. I served as a Councillor in Galway Co. Co. (2004-7). I lost out on a Dail seat by 45 votes at last General Election (2011).
