Election history:
I was elected to the Dáil in 2011, when I became the first female TD to be elected for Fine Gael in the Cavan/Monaghan constituency. I was appointed as Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in July 2014. Previously, I served on Monaghan County Council, including as Mayor in 2009.
Priorities:
- Build on progress made in growing jobs in the regions. Unemployment is down in Cavan & Monaghan by about one third - I want to continue that progress.
